I work at an advertising agency. Did a stint as a Visual Display Artist at Anthropologie (oh my, the employee discount!). Had a store in Oak Park called Memento. Used to work in architecture. Got my degree in design from UCLA.
I love any type of creative project -- whether it's making a Jolly Rancher costume for my daughter out of a box and cellophane or making a 12' long cornice board for the living room curtains (but not the part where I got hit in the face by my staple gun). Sewing. Painting (rooms, not paintings). Gardening. My current endeavor is taking apart the attic windows and attempting to rehang them with new sash chains. My latest love is my heat gun -- I should've bought it years ago!
I learned from my mom that it's worth it to make things beautiful...
